I’ll listen to california by phantom planet, and sort of wish I had that life, either just living in the hills or over in mulholland or that Laguna Beach lifestyle, but then I listen to Preservation Hall Jazz Band’s “Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans” and it makes it all better.
Meanwhile, there are 4 AMAZING parades rolling tomorrow night. People are talking it up like its gonna be the best night of their lives. We have a basketball game at 7, but we should be back by 9:30. and with this many parades, it may not be all over till midnight. so I should be able to catch at least part of it. I’ll be around the superior grill area with people if you need me.
The next 4 nights are the play back at my old school. I hear it sucks this year because I’m not stage managing it (I’m not bragging, I’m being dead serious). Oh what are you doing in Saint Louis? Putting on a crappy play? oh Im sorry I can’t make it, I”LL BE IN NEW ORLEANS FOR MARDI GRAS!.
Then some parades saturday, and Bacchus on sunday. Then I think one or two on monday. and then Zulu and Rex tuesday morning, and those will be over by 11 or so. Which begs the question, what does a local New Orleanian do on Mardi Gras day?
